Jackson, Mississippi is an illusion of substance built on dark history and a sea of unstable Yazoo clay. In reading CONFLUENCE I returned to my younger years of the same time period, and was pleasantly engulfed in a Southern experience which was certainly not my own. I find the value of a good book is being able to visit a life outside one’s own history, and this was certainly enjoyably achieved in the first published work of Mr. Nelson. Looking forward to more from this author.

Wow!
I took this book on a short vacation to a woodland cabin and finished it in 2 days. I found it to be a wonderful read and beautifully written. So many parts reflected some of my own feelings about family, life and spirituality. The writing had an undeniably honest feel that drew me in.
